Contego
Smart Helmet

Project goal

American Football has some of the highest concussion rates among professional and grass root athletes. Rates continued to rise in 2010 and focus was directed toward learning more about chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), a degenerative brain condition believed to be caused by repeated hits to the head.

The goals of this project was to design a helmet aimed at reducing these rates, taking in to consideration the psychological and behavioural factors contributing to the issue.
